The ELECFREAKS Classroom Smart Air Purifier Kit is an interactive STEM educational kit designed to help primary and secondary school students explore environmental health, air quality monitoring, and automated smart home technology. Centered around the IOT:bit expansion board (featuring onboard ESP8266 Wi-Fi), the kit includes an Octopus PM2.5 dust sensor, a motor fan module, and an OLED display. The system monitors indoor particulate matter in real time and automatically triggers the motor fan to circulate and filter air whenever dust concentration exceeds a custom-set threshold. Students can write MakeCode graphical code or MicroPython scripts to log telemetry data to IoT platforms (like smartiot.space) and build practical environmental projects when paired with the Smart Home Material Pack (wooden house model).
