Welcome to Ideotronix. These terms explain how buying kits, taking courses, subscribing, joining the distributor program and partnering with us as a school work. We have kept them as plain as possible. Please read them, especially the sections on returns and refunds and product safety.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of ideotronix.com and every product, course, subscription, program and service offered by Ideotronix (together, the "Services"). Ideotronix is operated by Ideation Axis Group, a company based in Ghana ("Ideotronix", "we", "us" or "our").
By creating an account, placing an order, enrolling in a course, subscribing, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Our Services
Ideotronix provides practical STEM, electronics, robotics and AI education, including:
- Online shop: STEM kits, robotics kits, microcontrollers, electronic components, sensors, accessories and books.
- Courses: self-paced online courses, purchased individually or accessed through a subscription plan.
- School programs: curriculum, classroom kits, teacher training, STEM lab setup, workshops and related support for schools and institutions.
- Distributor program: an opportunity for approved individuals to promote and sell Ideotronix products for a commission.
- Community content such as our gallery, blog and open-source projects.
We may add, change or withdraw any part of the Services at any time. Where a change materially affects something you have already paid for, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy.
3. Eligibility, Children and Schools
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account, place orders or enter into a subscription.
Many of our learners are children. A child may use our courses and kits only through an account created and managed by a parent, guardian, teacher or school, who accepts these Terms on the child's behalf and is responsible for supervising the child's use.
When a school or institution uses the Services for its learners, the person setting this up confirms they are authorised to do so on the institution's behalf. A separate written agreement with that institution takes precedence over these Terms where the two differ.
4. Your Account
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. Course access is for the account holder (or the learners an institution has licensed) and may not be shared or resold.
- Tell us immediately at ideotronix@ideationaxis.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, provide false information or are used fraudulently.
5. Orders, Pricing and Availability
Prices are shown in the currency displayed on each product (Ghana cedis or US dollars). Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we confirm it after successful payment.
We work hard to keep stock levels, descriptions, images and prices accurate, but errors can happen. If a product is unavailable or was listed with an obvious error, we may cancel the order and refund any amount you paid in full.
Product images are for illustration. Components may vary slightly between manufacturing batches without affecting what the kit can do.
Bulk and school orders
Quotes for bulk, school or institutional orders are valid for the period stated on the quote. They may be governed by a separate agreement or purchase order.
6. Payments
- Online payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Paystack, using the methods shown at checkout (such as mobile money and cards). Bank transfer may be available for bulk orders.
- We do not see or store your full card details or mobile money PIN. These are handled by Paystack under its own terms and privacy policy.
- You are responsible for any charges your bank or mobile money provider applies.
- Distributor codes and discounts are verified during payment. They cannot be exchanged for cash or combined unless we say so.
7. Delivery and Pickup
Unless stated otherwise at checkout, we contact you after your order is confirmed to arrange delivery or pickup. Any delivery fee and the expected timeline are communicated to you before dispatch. Timelines are estimates, and delays caused by couriers or events outside our control are not a breach of these Terms. We will keep you informed.
Please check your items when you receive them. Risk in the products passes to you on delivery or collection.
8. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
Physical products
- Damaged, defective or incorrect items: tell us within 7 days of receiving them, with photos where possible. We will repair, replace or refund the item, and cover reasonable return costs.
- Change of mind: unused items in their original, unopened packaging may be returned within 7 days of receipt. Return delivery costs are your responsibility. Kits that have been opened, assembled or programmed cannot be returned for change of mind.
- Approved refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 business days.
Courses
Because digital content is available immediately, individually purchased courses are not refundable once you have started them. If a course is materially not as described, or we cannot provide access, contact us and we will fix the problem or refund you.
Subscriptions
Subscription plans give access to subscriber content for the period you pay for (for example, one month or one year). When the period ends, access to subscriber-only content ends unless you renew. We do not give partial refunds for unused time in a period that has already started, except where the law requires it.
Distributor application fee
The one-time distributor application fee covers review and account activation. It is refunded only if we decline your application.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
9. Product Safety and Supervision
Important: STEM and electronics kits contain small parts, batteries, wires, motors, sharp-edged components and, in some cases, parts that become hot or carry electrical current.
- Small parts can be a choking hazard. Keep kits away from children under 3.
- Children should use kits under the supervision of an adult who has read the instructions.
- Use only the recommended batteries and power supplies. Never connect kits to mains electricity unless the instructions say so.
- Follow the age guidance and safety instructions supplied with each product.
Kits are educational products. We are not responsible for injury or damage caused by misuse, modification, ignoring the instructions, or using components outside their rated specifications.
10. Product Warranty
Products from third-party manufacturers (for example ELECFREAKS, Arduino or Raspberry Pi compatible hardware) are covered by any manufacturer warranty that applies. We will help you make a claim. Apart from that, and from your rights under section 8 and applicable law, products are provided without additional warranties.
11. Courses, Certificates and Learning Content
When you buy a course or subscribe, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the content for your own learning, or, for licensed institutions, for the learners and teachers covered by the institution's agreement.
- Do not copy, download (except where downloads are provided), record, resell or publicly share course videos, lesson plans or materials.
- Certificates of completion confirm that a course was completed on our platform. They are not an academic qualification or professional accreditation unless we expressly say so.
- We may update course content to keep it accurate and current.
12. Distributor Program
The distributor program is open to applicants we approve. Approved distributors are independent and are not employees, agents or legal representatives of Ideotronix or Ideation Axis Group.
- Commission rates and payout rules are those published on the distributor pages or in your distributor dashboard at the time of the sale.
- Distributors must describe products, prices and Ideotronix accurately, and must not make promises on our behalf.
- We may suspend or end a distributor account for misuse of distributor codes, misleading selling, fraud or breach of these Terms. Commission from fraudulent or refunded orders is not payable.
13. School Programs, Workshops and Events
Curriculum delivery, teacher training, STEM lab setup, workshops, camps and similar programs for schools or groups are confirmed in a separate proposal or agreement. That document sets out the scope, schedule, fees and cancellation terms. If an event or session has to be rescheduled for reasons outside our control, we will agree a new date or offer an appropriate refund or credit.
14. Your Content and Photos
If you send us reviews, project photos, videos or other content, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display and share it in connection with the Services and our marketing. You confirm you have the right to share it.
We publish images of children only with the consent of their school, parent or guardian. To ask us to remove an image, email ideotronix@ideationaxis.com.
15. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Provide false information or impersonate anyone.
- Use the Services for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent.
- Interfere with, attack or attempt unauthorised access to our systems or other accounts.
- Scrape, copy or harvest content or user data without permission.
- Harass or harm other learners, especially children.
16. Intellectual Property and Open Source
The Ideotronix name, logo, website, courses, curriculum and other materials belong to Ideation Axis Group or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use them without our written permission, except as these Terms allow.
Projects we release as open source are covered by the licence published with each project. That licence governs your use of that project's code or designs. Third-party product names and trademarks belong to their owners.
17. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services link to and rely on third-party services such as Paystack, video hosts and social media. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ideotronix and Ideation Axis Group are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or opportunity, arising from your use of the Services.
Our total liability for any claim relating to an order, course or subscription is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
19. Suspension and Termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing ideotronix@ideationaxis.com. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (for example payment obligations, intellectual property and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it in good faith. Disputes that cannot be resolved this way will be handled by the courts of Ghana.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when they last changed. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the website. Orders placed before a change are governed by the Terms in force when the order was placed.
