About this Product
The ELECFREAKS micro:bit TPBot Edu Car Kit is a smart, entry-level educational coding robot designed for children aged 8 and up, as well as STEM classrooms. Out of the box, it functions as a standalone smart toy capable of basic obstacle avoidance and line tracking without requiring a micro:bit. Once a BBC micro:bit board (V1 or V2) is inserted, it transforms into a programmable platform that introduces students to block-based (MakeCode) and text-based (Python/JavaScript) coding. Upgraded over the original TPBot, the TPBot Edu features an integrated 6-axis gyroscope and dual high-precision encoded motors that enable exact straight-line movement and turning at precise angles. Its body is constructed from durable ABS plastic with built-in lock-joints and top building-block pegs, making it seamlessly compatible with standard building block systems like LEGO. Designed for expandable STEM learning, it includes easily accessible RJ11 sensor expansion ports (compatible with the PlanetX module ecosystem) and supports add-ons like the ELECFREAKS AI Smart Lens Kit.
